    The Enlightenment
    The Enlightenment, or also known as the Age of Reason, many philosophers questioned the government. John Lock stated that people had the right to change the government. He also said that their natural rights are: life, liberty, and property. Rating: 9
    The Enlightenment opended people minds to different things and began to question.Monteesquieu mentioned the 3 branches of government. Link to Picture
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    The war was held in America. England and the American colonist fought side by side against the French. Fighting the war didn't come cheap. Paying for the war created a big dept for England. Rating: 9
    This event is important because England decided to tax the colonist in order to pay off the dept. Link to Picture
  • Proclamation Line of 1763

    Proclamation Line of 1763
    To prevent an argument or conflict with the Natvie Americans the Proclamation was put in practice. No Colonists were allowed to settle west of the Appalachian Mt. Rating: 6 This event was a result of the French and Indian war but did not lead to something really big or another important event. Link to Picture
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The British made the colonist pay direct tax on good. Printed documents had a stamp to proven that the tax was payed, From the rich to the poor.Some colonist responded to this act by boycotting.

    Boston Massacre
    In Boston on the year of 1765 colonist had an argument or dispute with British troops that resulted in five death of the colonist. Rating: 8

    Tea Act
    The tea act was an act that applyed a new tax on tea. Tea was a big thing and the new act angered the colonist. Rating: 7

  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Sons of Liberty was a group called by a group of Boston intellectuals. As a way of protesting they dressed as Mohawk Indians, and they dumped off British boats hundres of cases of tea into the Boston Harbor. Rating: 8 This is an important event because the Tea party did this the British were very angered. This lead to another act. Link to picture
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    In response to the Tea Party the British passed three more acts. This act was called the Intolerable Acts. The acts were made to punish the colonist. First, you had no trial by jury, colonist were forced to provide food and shelter for the English soldier, and no ships were permitted to leave or enter the Boston Harbor. Rating: 9 This act furied many colonist and violated their right to trial by jury.

  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The Intolerable Acts were addressed by 12 representatives of the colonies in Philadelphia. A letter asking to take back the acts was sent to King III. If he denied to repeal the acts they would meet again. The King effectivley ignored the request to repeal the acts.   • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    the British trooped believed that there was stashes or stocks of weapons in Concord, Massachussets. The British troops were threatened by farmers and militia member on their way to Concord. Once the British won the colonials they defeated more at Concord.
    Rating: 10 This is very important because it was the Begining of the American Revolution. There wasn't any more talking. Link to Picture
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson took the lead of writting the Declaration even though Benjamin Franklin was anticipated to be the author. Using idead from the philosophers John Locke and Rousseau, Jefferson gave his argument.

  • Second Continental Congress

    Second Continental Congress
    The battles in Massachusetts were discussed in 1776 by the Representatives. The Congress talked more about the issue of Independence. A committee was set up to write a declaration because most delegates supported independence. Rating: 9
