  • Proclamation Line

    This was a line placed by the British. This ends westward expansion and forbids settlement in the Ohio River Valley.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act added an indirect tax to the cost of sugar. But also gave British troops the Writs of Assistance, which gave them the right to search property without a warrant.
  • Townshend Acts

    This put a tax on Glass, paint, tea, etc. This money was used to finance troops in colonies. This act was unacceptable to the Americans.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This was a fight in the street between a mob of Americans throwing stuff and a groud of British troops. 5 colonists were killed, and no British troops got in trouble for this event.
  • Boston tea party

    When the colonist protest the tax on tea. These patriots went aboard 3 ships in the middle of the night and threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor, turning the harbor brown for a week.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These were 5 acts that the colonies found un-able to stand. The acts were, Quartering Act, Boston Port Bill, Administation of Justice Act, Massachusetts Government Act, and the Quebec Act.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    This was the document written by Thomas Jeffferson that declared our Independence from Britian. It was then signed by 52 people. This is what starts the revolutionary war.
