  • Period: to

    The Enlightenment

PictureThis was the period in time where new ideas from philosophers were created. It was also the period where America adopted many ideas from the British. • Period: to

    French and Indian War

    Picture
This war involved the English and the American's vs the French. This war started because of the Proclamation of 1763 that stated that the colonists were forbidden from settling west of the Applachian Mountains to avoid conflict from the Native American's. The colonists ignored the proclanation and the agruments began. I would rate this a five since this could have changed America's territory now.

This was a boundry that forbid the colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains to avoid conflict with the Native American's. Some colonists did not listen and The French and Indian War resulted from it. I rate this a seven because this affected the territory of the United States now. Many other countries could have taken over half if the war or this proclamation did not occur.

The Stamp Act was an act that forced all printed documents to have a stamp. The American colonists were very angered by this act so the decided to boycott British goods. • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
PictureIn 1773 the Tea Act was appealed and the colonists were not happy about it. The Sons of Liberty decided to protest by dressing up like Mohawk Indians and threw hundreds of cases of tea of British bats and into the Boston Harbor. I rate this a three because it was an act of protest to change the American people from being under the British law.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    Picture
The British were furious about the actions of the Boston Tea Party, so they appealed three acts to punish the colonists. They consisted of; No trial by jury in the colonies, Quartering Act and Blockade of Boston. I rate this a five because this made the colonists angry. It changed their perspective on how the British look down upon them.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    Picture
Delegates from the colonies met in Philadelphia to discuss the Intolerable Acts. They all agreed that writing King George III to repeal the acts would convince him too, but sadly he didn't. I rate this a two because this didn't get the colonists very far, since the King did not listen.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
PictureBritish troops believed that many weapons were being stockpiled in Concord, Massachusetts. The British decided to go find them, but they were confronted by American's from at Lexington. They killed off the militia men and killed many more upon their arrival at Concord. Colonists were forced to use guerilla warfare tactics against the troops, but failed. • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Picture
The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson to describe the thoughts of the American people. It was a document that summarized the ideas of philosophers.
