    French & Indian War>This was the final Colonial war the war was fought primarily between the colonies of British America and France. In 1756 the war escalated from a regional affair to a world-wide conflict. Two causes of the war are that the French and the British were fighting over land and that the British wanted to move in on and take over the French's fur trade. A effect from the war is the Treaty of Paris which ended the war.

    The Sugar Act 1764 The sugar act was passed by the Parliment of Great Brittian as a way to increse revenue. The sugar act arrived in the colonies at a time of economic depression because during the seven year war the colonists were feeding the British Army. Samuel Adams was one of the main people who protested this act. Finally in 1766 the sugar act got repealed.

    The Boston Massacre:The American Story The British Army killed five civilian men and injurged six more. British troops were stationed in Boston in order to protect the crown. A crowd of colonists gathered around the British troops and began to taunt them yelling "Fire!" and by throwing small objects at them. One troop thought he heard his commander yell "Fire!" so he let a shot off into the crowd, then the breakout begun.

    The Tea Act The main objective of the tea act was to reduce the massive surplus of tea held by the British East India Co. who was in debt and to help them survive. This caused a monoploy, which the colonists really hated. Americans began to smuggle tea from the Netherlands and sell the tea way below the price of what the British were charging. More and more americans refused to drink tea imported by the British.

    The Boston Tea Party The Boston Tea Party was a political protest held by the Sons of Liberty in Boston, against the tax policies the British parliment put on tea. Colonists objected to the Tea Act because they believed that it violated their rights as Englishmen to "No taxation without representation." The Boston Tea Party was a key event in the growth of the American Revolution. Parliament responded in 1774 with the Coercive Acts.

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord: America the Story of Us The Battles of Lexington & Concard was the first military engaments of the American Revolutionary War; they were fought in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington & Concord. About 700 British Army regulars were given secret orders to capture and destroy military supplies that were reportedly stored by the Massachusetts militia at Concord.

    Declaration of Independence The Declaration of Independence was a statement adopted by the Continental Congress that the thirteen colonies reffered to themselves as independent states, and no longer apart of the Birtish Empire. The cause of this was the Revolutionary War and the effect of this was that we gained our Independence and that King George didn't rule us anymore.
