Magna Carta
The Magna Carta was signed by King John of England. It was signed in Runnymede,England. The people got the right to be consorted before taxes were raised, to a jury trial, and not to have their life, liberty or property taken without just reason. -
Mayflower Compact
The purpose of this document was to promise to write a constitution within 5 years. -
Petition of Rights
por under the Peititon of Rights the people were granted rights, no taxes would be given without parliament consent, no imprisionment without a jury trial, soliers cannot be put in private homes, murtial laws cannot be used in times of peace. Charles I signed this document. -
English Bill of Rights
William and Mary were involved in the signing. It gave rights to the people, freedom to petiton the monarch, freedom from taxation by royal perogative, and reedome of speech. -

Albany Plan of union
The Albany Plan of Union never happened. Benjamin Franklin suggested the plan but never went through with it. -
King George III Takes Power
King George III organized indian attacks against colonial settlements therefore changing the relationship between the British and the colonies. -
Stamp Act
As a result all pieces of paper were taxed. The colonists protested becuse they thought they were being taxed too much. -
Boston Massacure
There were 5 colonists killed in the Boston Massacure. The Stamp Act is believed to have led to this. -
Boston Tea Party
video he Sons of Liberty organized this. The British repsonded by shutting down the Boston Harbor and enforcing the Intolerable acts. -
Intolerable Acts
This was created as a result to the Boston Tea Party. This act was made to redirect power to the King. The acts that made up the Intolerable Acts were the Boston Port Act, Massachusets Government Act, Administrating of Justice Act, Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act. -
First Continental Congress
As a result British goods were Boycotted. They met in Carpenters Hall,Philadelphia. -
Lexington and Concord
"shot heard around the world" As a result to these conflicts the Revolutionary War had begun. Colonel Smith, Major Pitcairne, and Lord Percy were involed in these Battles. Paul Revere was the person who had yelled the famous line "THe British are coming!" -
Second Continental Congress
This took place in the Pennsylvania State house. In this meeting the "rough draft" of the Declaration of Independence was writen. John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin all attended. -
