    This was the first document that was forced onto King John of England by a group of his subjects. This was an attempt to protect priveleges and limit his powers by law. It was also signed in England.
  • Mayflower Compact

    The Purpose of the Mayflower Compact was to proclaim allegiance to the king. This was the first written famework of government.
  • Petition of Rights

    The petition of right is a major document that sets out specific liberties of the subject that the king is prohibited from infringing. the Petition contains restrictions on non-Parliamentary taxation, forced billeting of soldiers, imprisonment without cause, and restricts the use of martial law. Charles I signed the petition of rights.
  • English Bill Of Rights

    This bill of rights was to grant the people basic human rights for freedom of speech. Also the right to bear arms for defense and be granted the right to the democratic process.

    The war was fought btween the colonies of British America and New France. Great Britain spend a great amount of money fighting the war. Some of the important battles were Battle of fort necessity, battle of fort william and henry, and Battle of River Monongahela. The British won the war.

    The stamp act was passed by the brtish parliament. The new tax was imposed on all American Colonists to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper like newspaper,legal papers, even play cards were taxed. The colonial leaders were very angry. They did not like the fact that they had to pay taxes on pratically everything.

    The Boston Massacre was the killing of 5 colonists by british regulars. There was tension between the american colonies since the royal troops arrived in massachusets. A mob of people attacked a group of british soldiers by throwing things.

    The boston tea party was a protest by the sons of liberty in Boston. It was against the tax policy of the British government and the East India Company that controlled all the tea imported into the colonies. When the officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of tea to Britain, so a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it in the Boston Harbor. The British made the intolerable acts which closed the Boston ports and destroyed the Massachusets government
