    King John of England signed it. It was signed in South England. Couldn't tax people unless a council of men agreed, people couldn't be put on trial without witnesses, couldn't be punished only by a jury of their peers.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    Orginally bound of the colony of Virginia, financed by the compant of Merchant Adventures of London, Storms forced the landing to to at the hook of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. They wanted to have a purpose for the government.
  • Petiton of Rights

    The petition stoppede taxes from being levied, no one could be imprisoned without cause, soldiers couldnt be housed with citizens, martial law couldnt be used in peace time. It was signed by Charles I
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    British and French were in this war. Earl of Loundoun appointed commander. Major general Edward Braddock was the 1st general. Robert Dinwiddle leader of Virginia. Fort Duquesdne was one of the major battles. George Washington to tell French to back away from border.
  • Albany Plan of Union

    Benjamin Franklin suggested the Albany Plan of Union. No the plan did not happen. The political cartoon associateed with this was "Join, or Die." It was a propsoal to create a government for the 13 colonies.
  • King George III takes power

    King George III takes power
    King George III was taxing people in England to protect the colonies. King and Parliament decided the colonies should pay the cost of part of the war.
  • Stamp Act

    Newspapers, almancs, dice, and playing cards were all taxed. The colonial leaders quickly united in opposition. King George III repeals act on March 17th.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    6 people were killed. The Townshend Act and the Stamp Act were forced during the boston massacre. The Boston Massacre is one of the many reasons why the thirteen colonies of Britain of America united.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Americans organized the event. The Birtish East India Company would only trade with pro- British merchants.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The act forced Britain to repeal the Stamp and Tea Acts. The acts were punishments that King George III put on colonies for dumping tea into the harbor at the Boston Tea Party.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The results were that Britsh won. The behavior would not be tolerated in America, One of the major battles of Military. They carried extra ammunition, cold salt pork, and hard sea biscuits. They didn't carry backpacks though just food bags.
  • First Continental Congress

    Peyton Randolph, Henry Middleton, Charles Thomson were involved. Princples common to all of the colonies were established. The meeting took place in Carpenter's hall in Philadelphia.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Took place in the State House in Philadelphia, PA now known as Indepence Hall. Seperated England and the Declaration of Indepence was conceived. Samuel Rhoads was one of the colonial leaders involved he was a civic leader.
  • Declaration of Independence

    The Declatration of Independence is a declare of indeoendence that the continetial congress annouced that the 13 Amercian colonies regarded themseleves as independent states no longer part of the British Empire.
  • Start of Consitutional Convention

    Overthrow the new american government. They were very mad with their limited power so George Washington decided to do something about it.
  • English Bill of Rights

    King William III Queen mary. The freedom to patition the monarch without fear of retriubution and freedowm of speech.
  • Articles of Confederation

    John Hanson would be the first president under the articles of confederation. Left the United States without a government. They had to install a new government quickly.
