  • 1.) Treaty of Paris 1763

    The Treaty of Paris put an end to the French and Indian War. Also, within the treaty, Britain was given control of all French possessions in modern-day Canada, along with almost all of the territory east of the Mississippi River,
  • Proclamation Act

    The Proclamation Act was issued becuase the British government did not want the American Colonists to continue to travel further west because it would stretch the British administrative resources thin. In order to prevent another conflict from occurring, the Proclamation Act was issued, which declared that there will be no settlement past the line drawn across the Appalachian mountains.
  • Proclamation Act

    King George III issued the Proclamation Act, which extended Georgia's southern border, gave land to the soldiers who fought in the seven year war, and established three new mainland colonies, which are Quebec, West Florida and East Florida
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act was a British Law passed by the parliament of Great Britain which changed the tax on sugar and molasses hat was imported into the colonies from six pence to three pence per gallon. The Sugar Act
  • Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act was issued by the British Parliament after the Stamp Act failed. The British Parliament did not want to give up on the principal of imperial taxation asserting its legal right to tax colonies, so the Declaratory Acts states that the taxing authority is the same in America as it is in great Britain.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament and imposed a tax on all American colonist so they had to pay for every printed piece of paper they use.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act was made by the British Parliament and required the American colonies to provide food, shelter or any accommodations for the solders.
  • Declaration of Rights and Grievances

    The Declaration of Rights and Grievances was issued by the Stamp Act Committee and fought for the the right to be free of taxation without representation, and since the British had no representatives in Parliament, they are not able to place taxes on the colonists.
  • Stamp Act Congress

    The Stamp Act Congress met in the Federal Hall building in New York and was attended by 29 representatives from nine of the thirteen colonies. The Stamp Act Congress was made in order to create a unified protest against the Stamp Act which was recently passed by the British parliament.
  • Stamp Act repealed

    After many months of protesting the Stamp Act, it was finally appealed by Benjamin Franklin before the British house of commons where parliament where congress voted to repeal the Stamp Act.
  • Townshend Acts

    The Townshend acts were a series of different acts signed by the British parliament that were placed on the american colonies that put taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper and tea imported into the colonies.
  • Boston Masacre

    The Boston Massacre is when a mob of protesters, who called them selves "patriots", started throwing stones, sticks, and snowballs at the British solders. This caused the solders to fire back at the patriots, killing five of them.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act was an Act passed by the British Parliament which gave the British East India Company Tea a monopoly on tea sales in the American colonies.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea party occurred becuase the American Colonist did not want to pay taxes on the British Tea so they boarded three ships in the Boston harbor and threw 342 chests of tea overboard.
  • intolarable act

    The British parliament produced 4 drastic changes to taxing these included the Boston port bill, the Massachusetts Government act, the Administration of Justice Act and the Quartering Act.
  • first continental congress

    In the first Continental, two delegates from the thirteen colonies met in Pennsylvanian to respond on the intolerable Act and they ended up petitioning King George.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord is where the first battle of the revolutionary was. During this war, British troops attack the colonists, hoping to take away their weapons, but the colonists ended up killing 700 British soldiers, winning the battle and boosting their confidence.
  • Bunker Hill

    The battle of Bunker Hill occurred at the beginning of the revolutionary where the British troops attacked the colonists at Bunker and Breeds hill. Although the British gained the land and hill, the British suffered many more deaths than the colonists.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was sent to King George by the Continental Congress and was made to settle their differences peacefully.
  • Common sense

    Thomas Paine wrote a book that convinced the Colonists to break off from British control and become the thirteen colonies.
  • Declaration of Independence

    On July fourth at the second continental congress meeting the delegates created the official thirteen colonies and adopted the declaration of independence.
