  • The Enlightenment

    The Enlightenment
    This is an event that made philosphers come to light and introduced thinking and philosiphy through logic and reason to society. This event would be a 9 because philosophers such as John Locke influenced our Declaration of Independence that runs our countries policies on freedom and independence.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
    This war took place between the French and English and American colonists in America in the 1750s and 1760s. This event would recieve a 3 for its signifigance becuase it did not affect realtions with England and America.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This prohibited the abililty of colonists from settling in the west of America. This law was created to avoid contact with Indians. This event would recieve a 5 beacuse it was an effect of the war and taxes were given to the collonists which made them mad at the British for their taxatrions.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    England created an act that said you must have a stamp on every
    thing mailed beacue it was a way to obtain more tax money. America didn't like their idea so they began to boycott. This event would recieve a 6 beacuse it's going to slowly but surely make the Americans mad enough to start complaining to England.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Since the coloinial protestors wouldn't stop protesting the Stamp Act, the British decided to kill 5 of them and that would give this event a 7 beacuse it is one more event that got the collonists ready to Revolt.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    England decided to put a tax on tea. While this went on many more collonists became more and more fed up with rediculous taxes. This event deserves an 8 beacuse this event led to the Boston Tea Party while this went on.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    While the Tea Act went on, the Sons of Liberty group decided to dress as Indians and dumped hundreds upon hundreds of cases of tea off of Britsh Boats. This made England very angry, and this gives this event a 9 for a level of importance.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    Since the Ameican collonists poured wasted all of their tea for protesting it, England decided to punish the collonists. New laws went into effect such as no trial by jury and the Quartering Act, which said that Amwricans had to house English soldiers. This event would get a 9 beacuse tensions are very high between these two coutries.
  • First Continental Congress

    First Continental Congress
    The collnists became fed up with the Intorerable Acts so 12 men decided to meet up i Philadalphia to qrite a letter to King Geroge III. They asked him to repeal the acts and he didn't. This event would be rated a 7 because the collonists will show their actual show of force with the Second Continental Congress.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    British troops find out that there are wepons being stockpiled in Concord. Along their way, they ran into farmers and militia in Lexington. British sadly defeated the militia collonists and they did not find any weapon caches. This event would be a 6 because it influenced the collonists to want to fight the British on top of their heavy taxes.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Second Continental Congress
    The 12 men meet up again and decide to discuss their freedom and battes in Massechusettes. A comittee is then set up to write a declaration. This event would be an 8 because the collonists are very outraged AND British soldiers are killing them. It is time for a change in leadership.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson decides to write Declaration and used ideas from Locke and Rousseau. He also writes that we have rights to be independent and we have the responsiblility to do so. This event is rated a 10 because we still use this document today which gives us rights and freedom.
