  • Proclomation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 first began from colonists celebrating the end of the French and Indian war. The proclamation closed off the frontiers of North America to reduce the expansion of colonial settlements. The land that was closed off included areas near rivers flowing into the Atlantic Ocean, the Ohio river and Mississippi were off limit territorys for the colonists.

    The sugar act of 1764 was Brittish law that was passed in order to raise the incomes of the thirteen colonial colonies. This caused the colinoists to work harder than they already had to. The products that the sugar act included molasses, suger, and rum. It also lead to more trade of other products from from North America.

    The currency act of 1764 was a law passed that didnt allow colonists to issue paper currency. The law was passed for Brittish merchants who were extremely suspicous of colonial currencies. This irritated the colonists because it appeased the Brittish merchants and prohibited the Americans from having the issurance of paper currency.

    The stamp act of 1765 was passed by the Brittish parloment putting a tax on the colonists for every peice of printed paper used, The paper/documents printed were legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards and ships papers. The money being payed for the taxes was used for the defense on the Americas frontier in the Appalachian Mountains

    The stamp act Congress was when the taxes on printed paper revenue was raised, once again. One of the reasons for raising the tax was because of the effects of Pontiacs war causing more Brittish troops to defend the North American frontiers,
  • Quartering Act of 1765

    The quartering act of 1765 was for Brittain to maintain the cost of there troops in America. The law basically required the colonists had to supply the troops with food, munition and barracks in turn for the soilders having to provide protection. This caused the colonists to resent the Brittish because they didnt ask for protection of the Brittish military and it caused more taxes to be forced on the colonists.

    The declatory act 1766 was passed by the Brittish parloment to ensure that Brittain had power to legislate over the colonies all of the time whatsoever. The act was placed at the same time the stamp act was repealed.
  • Townsend act of 1767

    Townsend act of 1767
    The townsend acts of 1767 were placed to put taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. The colonist reacted the same way to the sugar act and stamp act as they did to the townsend act. Eventually Brittain repealled the taxes on everything except for the tea.
