    After the French and Indian war the British started taxing the colonist because they were in debt from the war. The colonists were upset with the British and they wanted the British to stop taxing them. Also they did not get anyone to represent them and say no about taxing and they did not get to tell there side.
  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763
    King George III said the colonist could not move west of the Appalachian Mountains because he did not want to keep sending solider out to protect the people. That made the colonist very mad that the king wouldn’t protect them. Some of thee colonists decide that ignored it and moved west anyway.
  • The Stamp Act

    This act required special tax stamps for newspaper, cards, dices, card, legal documents and more. The colonist thought that it was wrong for parliament to tax them without a representivate in parliament .So the colonist boycotted and sent petitions to the king.
  • Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act forced the colonists to house British soldiers stationed in the colonies. The colonist saw this as violations of their rights .The colonists were outraged. The colonists refused and were violent toward the soldiers.

    The sugar act was tax on sugar and molasses. The colonist view of the act was that it was unfair for parliament to tax the colonists since there was no one to represent them at parliament. So the colonist boycotted and smuggled sugar and molasses.

    This act was tax on imports like paper, glass, and tea. It also allowed officers to use writs of assistance to search colonial ships for smuggled goods. The colonist saw this as them violating there rights .Had merchants signed non-importations agreements. They also boycotted.

    The Boston Massacre was a time when the colonist went wild and got together and stared to attack a group of soldiers. After that all the solider got accused of starting the fight and trying to kill the colonist.

    The Continental Congress was a plan to meet with 12 of the13 colonies to dicuss the plan of what they will do about the British and their new punishments. they disscuss then they say to meet back in the meeting place in one year.

    Punishments for the Bosten Tea Party were that town mettings were bann. Closed Boston Harbor till the tea was payed for. New Quartering Act.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    The sons liberty learns of the British plan to march to concord, MA warning seize weapons. Britain sends troops to concord, MA to seize weapons being stored there. Billy Dawes begins his ride from Boston, MA to Lexington, MA warning that the British were coming .Paul Revere saw 2 lanterns lit in the Old north Church indicating that the British are coming by sea. Paul Revere begins his ride warning that the British were coming.

    Massachusetts ": minutemen meet British soldiers at Lexington, MA where the first shots of the revolutionary war. General Thomas Gage sent 700 soldiers to destroy guns. The colonists had stored in the town of Concord. They also planned to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock, two of the key leaders.
