  • Stamp Act Congress

Sons and daughters of liberty came together and agreed to boycott stamped items by not buying them. They wanted the Stamp Act to be appealed so this was their way of making this happen, which ended up being successful. This event led to the American Revolution because it gave the people the power to come together and boycott something in order to make a difference, and as a way to peacefully rebel against the British rule and all of the taxes that were put in place to pay back a war debt.
  • Townshend Act

The British repealed the stamp act and then put the Townsend Act in its place. This act taxed glass, paint tea. The money was used to finance troops in colonies. This act led to revolution because this act was also repealed four years later, to only be replaced by the quartering act which infuriated people, because hey had to house, feed, and ten to a britich troop or troops living out of their home. This creates even more tension between the troops and the people.

  • Intolerable Acts

The Intolerable acts are formed, and the First Continental Congress meets. The intolerable acts really unite the Americans and push them to the point where they've had enough, they're joining together and plotting against the king in order to get their rights back. This was the Kings reaction to the Boston Tea party, because he lost 1-3 million dollars. It was his way of trying to regain power, colect money, and punish the Americans.
  • Committies of Correspondence

The committies of correspondence were responsible for spreading news throughout the colonies. They formed together to enforce boycotts and to make sure everyone knew about them, they did this through blacklisting (newspapers) and just having people spread the news amongst themselves. Their overall goal was to avoid mobs, and to unite the americans. Just about every colony had a committe.
  • Battles of Lexington and Concord-Battle of Bunker Hill

There was a militia forming in Massachusetts becaue of the French and indian war to defend their town, so the King immediatley reacted by launching the Lexington and Concord Mission with the goal of taking their ammunition, and guns.
  • Sons and Daughters of Liberty

The sons and daughters of liberty really started the reuniting of the Americans, and to agree that their rights are being taken away from them, and that they need to do something about it. Each act is taking away their rights, ruining the economy and forcing the americans to have to rely on the British. They joined together and were the reason the Boston Tea Party occured, in response to the Tea Act. The Boston Tea party causes the King to create the intolerable acts.
