  • French and Indian War

    This is a war of colonial British against colonial French. Different Indian tribes supported both sides.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    This is a proclamation of King George III after the French and Indian war. This declared the land west of the Appalachian Mountains as a reserve for the Indians.
  • Sugar Act

    This is an act set by the British. This was to stop the smuggling trade of sugar from the west Indies.
  • Stamp act of 1765

    This imposed a tax on American colonies on their news papers, legal documents, and commercial documents.
  • Townshend Acts

    These acts include The New York Restraining Act, The Revenue Act, The Indemnity Act, the Commissioners of Customs Act, and the Vice Admiralty Court Act. These acts were made to tax the American colonies.
  • The Boston Massacre

    This is an incident in Boston where British soldiers shot and killed people in a mob.
  • Tea Act

    This was an act to help a British company sell tea to American colonies by preventing tea from coming from other sources.
  • Boston Tea Party

    American colonist that did not like the Tea Act dumped tea from the British company into to the Harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    These acts were penalties imposed by the British in response to the Boston Tea Party this increased taxes.
  • 1st Congressional Congress

    This was a meeting of delegates from 12 British colonies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania they discussed how to respond to the Intolerable Acts.
