  • Jamestown

    Jamestown was the first stable colony after about the first year. It was a colony started by rich men who only wanted t come over to make money. After about a year of death and the people starving John Rolfe brought over tobacco seeds and they started to grow them and they made lots of money and became successful .
  • French and Indian War

    The event that triggered the revolution. It was a war between the British and the French and a few native tribes allied with the French. when the war was over and the colonists won the king set new taxes and land restrictions on the colonists.
  • Proclimation Line

    The proclamation line was put into place by the British to regulate the colonists after the French andIndian war because it cost so much money and the british were angry at the colonists
  • Stamp Act

    The stamp act was one of the first acts that the British put on the colonists that made them angry. The act put a tax on anything that had ink on it ranging from dice to high school diplomas.
  • Townshend Acts

    This tax was put on things that weren't necessary but the colonists used. Some examples of these things were tea, glass and paint. This was the act that ended up causing the Boston tea party to happen.
  • Liberty is Seized

    John Hancock's ship Liberty was seized by the British customs officials and they brought over troops to back them up. this made the Sons of Liberty even more angry.
  • More Warsips Arrive in Boston

    the British send more troops and warships over to Boston to help contain the rebels. this eventually leads to the Quartering act. at this point there is one British officer for every five colonists.
  • Boston Massacre

    the Boston massacre was arguably the most influential event leading up to the revolution. When it happened everyone in Massachusetts was angry at the British soldiers for firing on a "defenseless" crowd.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston tea party happened when the British started to tax tea heavily and the Sons of Liberty didn't like that. So what they did was dump all of the British tea into the harbor costing them millions of dollars in damage.
  • Quartering act

    this act allowed the British troops to live with colonists without their permission. the colonists had to feed them and this made them angry at the British and had more people supporting leaving the British.
