Proclamation Line
A boundary line issued by King George III stating that no Colonists make settlements west of the Appalachian Mountains. -
Stamp Act
Stamp Act was the act that states all paper goods/materials, such as newspapers, playing cards, and mail will be taxed. -
Quartering Act
Colonists are to allow British Soldiers into their homes, feed them, and find them a place to sleep in the colonies. Mostly happened in the New England Colonies, and some Middle Colonies -
Declaratory Act
Also came with the repeal of the Stamp Act, the Declaratory Act states the Parliament will now have a direct tax on the colonies at any given time. -
Townshend Acts
Acts the British Parliament passed that allow taxes to be pressed on glass, lead, paint, tea, and other goods/ -
Boston Massacre
British Soldiers open fire to Colonist in Boston. 5 Colonists died, which started the Committee of Correspondence. -
Committee of Correspondence
A group of organizers who spread information in the colonies. Colonists will hear about it much quicker then England. -
Tea Act
Passed to save the East India Company, but angered the Colonists because it could only buy tea from that company -
Boston Tea Party
A protest against the Tea Act, resulted by dumping tons of British Tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Coercive Acts
Acts put in place after the Boston Tea Party. Shut down alot of government offices in Boston. -
"Shot Heard Around The World"
Nobody knows who shot first, but it was the beginning of the American Revolution. Started in Lexington/Concord. -

Thomas Paine, stating the main points what the Colonies wanted, Independence and A democratic country/government. -
Declaration of Independence
A written document that states the colonies are as one, and will be united. it was written during the American Revolution.
