    Proclamation Line
    The Proclamation Line was created by the British. The line forbidden the American colonist to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. Some colonists moved pass the line against the British because the believed that the British didn't care about them.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act stated that colonists have to house and feed British troops. Colonists disputed the legality of the Act because it seemed to violate the Bill of Rights.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was when British did not have enough money and directly taxed the colonies and put it on paper. They did it because they needed help to pay for the French and Indian War. The Stamp Act was later repealed.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory Act was originally called The American Colonies Act. The Declaratory Act stated that the Parliament had the right to tax the colonist at anytime. The Parliament directly taxed the colonies for revenue in the Sugar Act and the Stamp Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was a passed by the Parliament in 1767. It was issued because of the British needed more money and had to do direct tax on paint, glass, paper, and tea. The Colonists got angry and told the British that they were not going too pay if they didn't have any representation. In conclusion,British put 2000 troops in each city and ordered them to shoot anyone that didn't follow the rules that were given to them.

    The Boston Massacre was an incident where only 5 people got killed by British soldiers. There were only 9 British soldiers but they were surrounded by a mob of Bostonian's. The soldiers panicked because they were hit by a snowball and fired at them.

    The Committees of Correspondence was a network of individuals that kept people informed throughout the colonies. This event was created by the Boston Massacre. The assemblies were held in Virginia and Massachusetts.

    On April 27, 1773, the British Parliament passed the Tea Act. The Tea Act was a bill designed to save the faltering East India Company from bankruptcy. It greatly lowered the tea taxes to pay the British government and granted a monopoly on the American tea trade.

    The British tea was being boycotted. For that reason, the British passed a law removing taxes from British tea and keeping the tax on the colonists' tea. The colonists were angered and decided to throw 18,000 pounds of British tea into water.

    Intolerable or Coercive Act
    The Intolerable Act was when Boston was punished for their part in the Boston Tea Party. The British closed the Boston Harbor so they couldn't make any money. They also closed their government offices. An that led to the First Continental Congress.
