In 1773 the people of Boston had a political protest against the taxing without representation. Which was just the tax act which made them pay a tax on everything. So for this protest they pur loads of tea into the Boston harbor.

The Intolerable Acts were set to punish colonists in Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party. One of these laws was saying that the Boston harbor was closed until they paid for the tea.

This was the first meeting of the 12 out of 13 British colonies which would late become the united states. The plan was to bond Great Britain and the colonies. They decided to then boycott British trade.
