French and Indian War
The French and Indian War started because France and Britain disagreed on who owned what land in North America. -
French and Indian War ended
The French and Indian War ended after the signing of the treaty of Paris. This stated that France gave up all land in North America. -

The sugar act was when Britain passed taxes and commercial regulations to supplies coming into the colonies. -
Stamp Act
The British started taxing the colonists for paper and stamps in hopes to help pay for the war. -
Quartering Act
This act required colonists to give housing, food, water, and a comfortable place to sleep to British soldiers. -
Declaratory Act
This Act started that British parliament had the same taxing authority in America as they did in Britain. -
Townshend Act
This act added import taxes on many supplies going from Britain to the colonists. -
First Methodist Church
The Methodist Church was introduced to North America. This also introduced a new form of religion. -
Boston Massacre
Due to conflict rising between the colonists and British because of the Townsend Act. A mob of colonists attacked British loyalists. This caused the British to fire, killing 5 colonists. -
Boston Tea Party
Tension was rising between the Colonists and British due to the Townsend Act and Tea Act. This caused some Colonists to dress up like Indians and throw 342 chests of British Tea into the ocean. -
Parliament passed the intolerable Acts
Meant to punish those who were involved in the British Tea Party. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
It occurred when the British tried to seize gunpowder from the Americans. It also started the American Revolution. -
The Declaration of Independence was singed
This was a proposal to the king stating that the colonists would be separate from the British and become what is now know as Americans.
