    The French and Indian war impacted the relationship between Britain and the colonists because the king was forcing colonists to pay money after the war and the relationship between the colonists and the British king was negatively affected because colonists did not want to pay any money and were mad at the king.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    the king did not expand land for the colonists because of the law that was made for land expansion called the proclamation of 1763. Because of this, the colonists were mad at the king once again after they had fought in the war for land also. Lastly, The king raised taxes for goods that the colonists needed so they were forced to pay more money. The colonists were mad at the king for this, and then the colonists started to rebel.

    The Stamp act of 1765 British policy required colonists to purchase stamps for all official paper publications, including letters, newspapers, and magazines. For every sheet or piece of paper, on which shall be engrossed, written, or printed, any register, entry, or enrollment of any grant, deed, or other instruments whatsoever not herein before charged a stamp duty of two shillings.
  • Boston massacre

    Boston massacre
    The Boston massacre was a response to the arrival of British soldiers in October 1768. It happened on March 5th, 1770, when a mob of angry townspeople encircled a British sentry shouting insults and throwing rocks and sticks, therefore, nervous Redcoats opened fire into the crowd, killing five Bostonians and wounding several others. This led to the colonists did not want to give the British a reason for more violence, and so preparations were made to ensure a fair trial for the British soldiers.

    In an effort to save the troubled enterprise, the British Parliament passed the Tea Act in 1773. The act granted the company the right to ship its tea directly to the colonies without first landing it in England.

    The Boston tea party was in response to the tea act of 1773. It happened on December 16 1773 because three tea ships arrived at the Boston harbor and the colonists demanded that the tea be returned to England. The colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor. This lead to the Intolerable acts in 1774 which closed the Boston harbor then resulted in the no town meetings and quartering of soldiers

    Intolerable acts
    The Intolerable Acts were laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea Party. The laws were meant to punish the colonists for their defiance in the Tea Party protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British Government.

    The Olive Branch Petition was adopted by the Second Continental Congress on July 5, 1775, and signed on July 8 in a final attempt to avoid war between Great Britain and the Thirteen Colonies in America.
