    Cause: Governor William Berkeley refused to retaliate Native Americans on settlements
    Event/Act: Bacon raised an army to defend the Native's land
    Aftermath: Jamestown was burned down
  • Great Awakening

    Cause: the colonists traveling to the new world
    event/act: religious revival that impacted the English colonists
    Aftermath: everyone was creating a relationship with God
  • French and Indian War

    Cause: Settlers moving to North America
    Event/Act: Determined who would control North America
    Aftermath: Debt, England needed to pay off the damage the war created, so they started to tax the Colonists' goods
  • Treaty of Paris

    Cause: French and Indian War and France losing
    Event/Act: Treaty that ended the French and Indian war. Its signed and France loses all of their land in America and England becomes the ruler
    Aftermath: England is in debt so they start taxing goods
  • Pontiac's Rebellion

    Cause: British colonists expanded their military presence in the Great Lakes area during and after the French and Indian War.
    Event: conflict between the British Empire, Pontiac's tribe, and other Natives

    Aftermath: Proclamation lines and a bunch of people died

    Event/Act: a British-produced boundary marked in the Appalachian Mountains at the Eastern Continental Divide

    Aftermath: Boycotts of English goods and violent Protests

    Cause: French and Indian war, England was in debt
    Event/Act: colonists had to provide shelter and supplies to British soldiers
    Aftermath: Protests to British presence
  • Townshend Acts

    Cause: French and Indian war, England was in debt
    Event/Acts: Import taxes on commonly used items (tea, lead, glass, and dyes)
    Aftermath: Colonists boycotted once more, the colonial courts refused to issue the writs, and then this led to more protests
  • Boston Massacre

    Cause: Colonist didn't like having British soldiers in their city
    Event/Acts: British soldiers shot and killed several people while being harassed by a mob in Boston
    Aftermath: 8 soldiers were jailed and tried for murder
  • Tea Act

    Cause: French and Indian war, England was in debt
    Event/Act: Gives British East India Co. tax free imports of tea in America
    Aftermath: Colonists boycott British goods in cities like NY and Philadelphia. This act also led to the the Boston Tea Party
  • Boston Tea Party

    Cause: The Tea Act (Britain repealed all of the other acts except the Tea Act)
    Event/Act: The Sons of Liberty went to Boston harbor dressed as Indians and they dumped boxes of tea into the harbor
    Aftermath: Intolerable Acts

    Cause: Boston Tea Party
    Event/Act: Crown tightens control of Massachusetts (closing Boston ports, passing another Quartering Act, and revoked colonial charter)
    Aftermath: Unites all colonies in sympathy for Massachusetts and leads to further support of the rebellion

    Event/ Acts: representatives from 12 of the 13 colonies met up in secret to form a plan to gain independence
