  • Rebellion Starts

    Rebellion was led by Ottawan leader called Pontiac, and lasted for 3 years.
  • Sugar Act

    Tax on importing sugar (molasses), wine, and coffee, to gain money. They had already started in 1733, they halfed the tax but colonists still refuse to pay it.
  • Quartering Act

    British made colonists supply their troops with living quarters, bedding, food, beer, cider and rum.
  • Stamp Act

    Direct tax on all legal documents, newspapers, pamphlets, playing cards, dice, and all other printed material.
  • Virginia Resolves Pass

    In late May 1765, the Virginia House of Burgesses passed the Virginia Resolves, which denied Parliament’s right to tax the colonies under the Stamp Act. By the end of the year, eight other colonial legislatures had adopted similar positions.
  • Parliament Repeals Stamp Act

    Under strong pressure from the colonies, and with their economy slumping because of American boycott of British goods, Parliament repealed the Stamp Act in March 1766.
  • Pontiac Signs Treaty

    Pontiac, the leader of the rebellion, signs the treaty but the Native Americans don't surrender.
