    Magna Carta- 800th anniversaryMagna Carta- 800th anniversary The Magna Carta meaning Great Charter was for England's King John and for furture royalers agreeing to a rule of laws. It then served as the foundation for the english system of common law. Then they looked at the Magna Carta as a symbol of freedom. It give all people the right to a jury and to explain anything before being imprisoned. The Magna Carta was signed by the royal seal between the feudal baronsand King John. They signed it at Runnymede near Windsor Castle

    Mayflower Compact- History ChannelThe Mayflower Compact was a document for Pilgrims AND non-Pilgrims who were aboard the Mayflower when they arrived at Cape Cod(which was not their destation). Everyone had to sign the compact saying they agree to whatever form of government was established after landing. This all started when people wanted to rebal and start their own government but they stopped it all at the signing of the Compact.

    Patriots from Massachusetts protested the tea shipments from England by waiting for the ships to come into Boston. At midnight on Dec. 16th a small group lead by Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty dressed up as indians, boarded the ships and then threw barrels of tea into the harbor. The Coercive Acts of 1774 was intended to punish the colony in general and Boston in particularly.
