  • Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre is a very known event. It all began as a street fight between British soilders and a few Americans. The Americans were throwing sticks, snowballs, and stones at the British. This riot began when 50 citizens started to attack the British. The first man killed in the British Massacre was a black man named Crispus Attucks. Three men died and eight were wounded for the American citizens. The Boston Massacre was a signal event leading to the Revolutionary War.
  • Tea Act

    The British started to tax tea and no one wanted the tea that was going to be taxed. The East India Company was with 18 million pounds of tea and had to get rid of it somehow. So, the British started sending tea out to different places trying to get rid of it and out of thier way. But no one wnated the tea so some people turned the ships around and sent it back to them. Others dressed up as Native Americans and took all the tea and dumped it overboard.
  • Battles at Lexington and Concord

    Lexington had 70 minutemen tryin gto stop the British that were attacking. Minutemen were people who were ready to fight at a minutes notice. In Concord they hid their weapons so the British could not steal them. British started to set fire to buildings. Minutemen used sharpshooters and shipers to force Birtish to retreat. In Lexington a patriot fired the first shot and to this day on no one knows who shot first. Everyone calls the first shot 'shot heard around the world'.
  • Fort Ticonderoga

    Benedict Arnold and a force of 400 men were sent to New York State by the leaders in Boston to fight the British and capture Fort Ticonderoga. Arnold and the men captured Fort Ticonderoga and all most of the weapons that were there. The Americans finally came out with a win against the British. The British was now sick of losing to Americans and wanted a victory. They came up with a plan to recapture Fort Ticonderoga, and that they did. This was a turning point in the Revolutionary War.
  • Battle at Bunker Hill

    Battle at Bunker Hill didn't actually take place on Bunker Hill. That's just where they started but then they ended up going to Breeds Hill and that is where the battle began. The Americans were led in this battle by William Prescott. At about two in the morning over 2,000 British troops landed. At the end of this battle the British had won their third attempt against us becuase Americans had ran out of ammo. Battle at Bunker Hill was the first battle of the Revolutionary War.
  • War at Sea

    War at Sea was with the British and Ameicans and a lot of people thought the British would crush the Americans. The American Navy had eight fighting ships ready for action by February. In February the Americans launched a offensive to damage the British operating ability on the Carolina Coast. The Patriots went for the supply base on Nassau which was in the Bahamas and belonged to the British. American Troops siezed the British's main fort of supplies as they then raised their flag.
  • Battle of Long Island

    The Battle of Long Island was a sad battle for the Americans, because we lost. We were very close in men but the Britsih and Hessians had more. The British and Hessians had about 20,000 men while we only had about 18,000 men. The Americans were forced back to New Jersey by General Howe. Washington built barriers all around Manhattan and Long Island to prevent the British penetrating beyond New York.
  • Battle of Trenton

    The Battle of Trenton was one of the most important Patriot victory! This battle was against the Hessians. Americans sprang up on the Hessians when they were sleeping from a good night of celebrating the holidays. In 1777 on January 2 the Patriots left the fires burning and quietly circled around the British troops. When morning came Washington and his troops attacked. All the British scattered and Washington yelled "It is a fine fox chase, my boys!" and that meant the Patriots had won!
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was not a battle it was a very bad winter of suffering. Washington's men have been suffering from the winter and had been treading through the snow bare footed. That winter over 2,000 soldiers had died becuase of diseases and malnutrition. Some soldiers even marched on and grew to become better and stronger soldiers
  • War in the West

    The Native American Nations controlled the Appalachian Mountains which were in the west, Both the Patriots and British wanted to enlist them into their cause. George Rogers Clark was a surveyor along the Ohio and Kentucy river and when the war broke out he know all the lands. He got people from all over to make an army. Torwards the end the British were more successful at winning over the Native Americans then the Americans were. Clarks campaigns became better then the British's support in west.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown was the last major battle in the Revolution. George Washington heard about General Cornwallis moving his force of about 7,200 men to Yorktown, Virginia. Washington found a plan to trap Cornwallis at Yorktown. He ordered Lafayette to go to Yorktown and block Cornwallis's escape. Washington then combined his troops with the French and together had over 16,000 soldiers. Cornwallis was now surronded with Americans and the French. British was forced to finally surrender.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris officially ended the wars and fighting between the British and American troops. Great Britain recongized independence for United States. The treaty set American boarders between British and America. British leadrs also accepted Americans to settle and trade west.
