Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war. The terms of the treaty were that Great Britian got Canda and all the land west of the Mississippi River exept for New Orleans and two small islands. They also got flordia from Spain. This treaty changed the power of North America. -

Sugar Act
The Suger act set taxes on molasses and sugar imported by the colonists. This tax made the colonist upset because they didn't get any say in whether they should be taxed or not. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act put a tax on all paper goods. Such as, paper, playing cards, and wrapping paper, The colonist had to recive a stamp everytime they bought something like this. -
Townshend acts
The Townshend Acts put a tax on glass, lead, paint, and tea. Also Great Britian allowed their soldiers to seach any ship for any product that was not taxed. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was when a mob of Boston citizens got mad at some British soldiers. They started throwing things at them and yelling. In the end, five citizens were shot and killed. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was a tax on tea. At this time, tea was something that everyone drank. So this tax was a pain for the colonist. It was the cause of the Boston Tea Party. Colonist were fed up with Great Britians taxes. -

The Boston Tea Party was a great event in history. It was when some men, dressed as Indians, and dumped tea over the side of a ship. They did this as a way to protest to Great Britian. -

The colonist had a meeting to discuse what they were going to do about Great Britian called the First Continental Congress. Deligates meet and drafted the Declaration of Rights. -
Declaration of Rights
At the First Continental Congress the deligates discussed and drafted the Declaration of Rights. It was a list of 10 resolutions to give to King George III. -
Intolerable Acts
To punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party Great Britian put more taxes on the colonists called the Intolerable Acts. It said that the colonist were to house soldiers, the Boston Habor would be closed, the charter on M.A. would be dropped, the trails for the soldiers who killed the citizens would be held in Great Britian, Quebec would be extended to the Ohio Country, and that Catholces were allowed to worship as they want. -
Lexington and Concord
The Americans lost their first battle at Lexington and Concord. They had eight badly wounded and ten dead while, the Britsh only had one that lay dead. -
Second Continental Congress
The colinise had enough of all the taces, so they meet again to discuss their problems. They decided to prepared for a rebellion. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was another fail for the Patriots although they did prove they could take on the British. Even thought the battle is called Battle of Bunker Hill it was really fought on Breeds hill. -
Common Sense
Thomas Paine was the author of a pamphlet called Common Sense. This pamphlet expressed ideas about the breaking away form Great Britian. It changed the way people thought about the war. -
Battle of New York
Washington had assumed that the British would attack New York next, and he was right. The battle started and the British captured the Patriots as well as the Patriots suppiles. Soon they pushed them to New Jersey -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was writen by Thomas Jefferson. This document declarated independence from Great Britian. -
Battle of Tenton
The Battle of Tenton was a big victory for the Patriots. They had captured over 900 Britsh soldiers. -
Battle of Brandywine Creek
The British were left with the feild having to drive the Americans from there postion at the Battle of Bundywine Creek. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratonga was by far the greatest victory for the Patriots. In New York the Americans surronded the British and they were forced to surrender. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War. It lasted two weeks. While the British had become weak the Americans came on strong and had another great victory.
