  • French and Indian War/7 Years War

    The war between Britain and France that plunge Britain into debt. In order to pay off their debt, Britain begins enforcing tax and trade laws that were previously ignored.
  • 1st Quartering Act

    Allowed British troops to force colonists to allow them to stay in their homes
  • Stamp Act

    Put a tax on all paper products
  • Sugar Act

    One of the first of the new tax laws Britain enacted to repay their debts
  • Townshend Acts

    Another tax law that forced colonists to pay duties on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea.
  • Boston Massacre

    A source of outrage for rebels in America. Used as propaganda in America
  • Tea Act

    A tax on imported British tea. Results in the Boston Tea Party
  • Boston Tea Party

    Outraged colonists throw tea from British ships into the water due to the Tea Act
  • Intolerable Acts

    Consisted of the: Boston Port Act, Govt. Act, 2nd Quartering, Justice Act, Quebec Act. The final straw for most colonists and the beginning of serious thought of rebellion
  • Lexington & Concord

    The first shot fired in the Revolutionary war. This shot is referred to as: "the shot heard 'round the world"
