  • Proclamation of 1763

    The colonists had in mind the great vast western lands, the king presented this to calm the fears of the indians, this was intended to pen the colonists to the eastern atlantic seaboard to control them in a easier way. Colonists felt like they had been robbed of rich land in the west.

    The Townshend acts were passed by the Parliament of Great Britain. The purpose was to punish the province of new york for failing to follow the Quartering act and to raise revenue in the colonies. It resulted a massacre in Boston.

    The Massacre was the 1770, pre-Revolutionary incident growing out of the anger against the British troops sent to Boston to maintain order and to enforce the Townshend Acts. The Boston Massacre, was an incident on March 5, 1770, in which British Army soldiers killed five male civilians and injured six others.

    The Boston Tea Party was a direct action by colonists in Boston against the British government and the monopolistic East India Company that controlled and managed all the tea coming into the colonies. It took place on 16th December 1773 when the colonists threw tea into the Boston Harbour.

  • whiskey rebellion

    The refusal of U.S. grain farmers and whiskey distillers to pay a new excise tax on sprites in 1794. President George Washington ordered a huge militia to meet the resistance, which then quickly vanished. The Whiskey Tax was repealed under President Thomas Jefferson.
