  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre occured when British Soldiers ended up shooting into a crowd and killing at least five coloniest. This caused a very unsettling feeling of the British Soldiers.
  • Abandon of Nonimportation

    Abandon of Nonimportation
    The last colony (Virgina) abandoned the nonimportation pact after repleal the Townshend Acts.
  • Boston Town Meeting

    Boston Town Meeting
    A Boston town meeting led by Samuel Adams results in a 21-member committee of correspondence to coordinate with other Massachusetts towns against the threat to self-rule.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    The Tea Act was passed on May 10th, 1773 by Great Britain's parliment. This act created a monoploy on the American tea trade.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Tea Act complelled a group of men, called the Sons of Liberty to dump of 46,000 tons of tea on the three ships at Boston Harbor.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts were put into place after the Boston Tea Party to punish the people for this action. The Intolerable Acts included The Boston Port Act, The Massachusetts Government Act, The Administration of Justice Act, The Quartering Act, and The Quebec Act.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    The First Continental Congress came about after The Intolerable Acts were put into place. The Congress met from September 5th, 1774 to October 26th, 1774. This was a meeting between the colonies trying to decide if they should seperate from Britian. Finally the congress decided to send "Declaration of Rights and Grievances" which basically saying they want Britian to calm down or they are seperating.
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The Battles of Lexington and Concord
    Coloniest became increasingly upset and the King's response to The First Continental Congress was not favorable so they began to build up their weapons. When Paul Revere announced that "The British were coming" many "minute men" went out to meet them in Lexington first. This is concidered the first military interaction between the British and Coloniest.
  • The Second Continental Congress

    The Second Continental Congress
    The Second Continental Congress followed the Battle of Lexington and Concord because they felt it was really time to do something and they were quick to try and make peace with The Olive Branch Petition because they just wanted Britan to calm down but they did not want war. The King did not even read this and pushed it aside.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    The Declaration of Independence came after the Colones got tired of Britian and the King when The Olive Branch Petition did not work. The Declaration of Independence declared independence from Britian.
