    Colonists dressed up as Indians and threw tea overboard in the Boston Harbor. It was a protest because the British were taxing the tea higher than it should.
  • Paul Revere's Ride

    Paul Revere warned John Hancock and colonists when the British were coming. One lantern was lit if British were coming by land and two lanterns were lit if they were coming by sea. This was the start of the war.

    The Americans and British fought to take over Breeds Hill. The British won but there were over 800 wounded and 226 casualties.

    The declaration of independence was finished on June 28, 1776 and signed a week later. It listed all the bad things the king had done and declared they wanted freedom and would fight for it.

    The colonists had 18,000 troops and the British had 8,000 troops. The British surrendered after about 20 days. This was the last battle of the Revolutionary War.
