    Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was put out by the British on October 7, 1763 at the end of the 7 year war to mark boundaries after the war. It was issued by King George ||| to prevent Americans from settling on land past the appellation mountains. Colonists were happy and unhappy about this Act and grew a desire for farmland. The British government did not follow this proclamation and sent more troops.

    Sugar Act

    This act was issued in 1764 by Minister George Grenville to stop the smuggling of sugar and molasses. It was also placed to help raise money and get Great Britain out of debt. It put forced a tax on the two items by lowering the cost six pence to three pence per gallon. Because of this forced tax almost ended the rum industry. The colonists did not like this and held many protest and meetings held against this Act, there was also a lot of boycotting done by the British Government.

    Stamp Act

    The stamp act was an act imposed by the British Parliament in 1765, this act imposed a direct on any printed material in the American colonies. This was imposed after the seven year war to help get out of debt. Because of this act there were many boycotts and attracts done by both the colonists and British government.

    Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory act was passed on the same day that the Stamp Act was repealed. This Act made it so that "Parliament could make laws binding the American colonies "in all cases whatsoever." This was issued by the British Parliament on American colonists. Most of the colonist and British were ok with this and respected it.

    Townshend Acts

    The Townshend Acts was a series of Different Acts passed by parliament after the seven year war to help get out of debt. These acts were named after Charles Townshend who imposed duties on British china, glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea imported from the colonies. The colonists were not happy with this and organized many boycotts against the British because of it, and the government respected this.
