The Start of the Sugar Act
This act made it so all sugar was taxed. It cost 3 pence more than normal. It was repealed in 1766 because of angry colonists.

The Colonial Currency Act Starts
The Colonial Currency Act made it so all colonists could only use gold and silver as currency. Because of the scarcity of these metals in America, they had to be imported from England. This act wasn't repealed until 1774 when the First Continental Congress discussed it.

The Quartering Act Starts
American colonists were forced to house British Soldiers. The act was repealed in 1770 once the British realized the consequences outweighed the benefits.

This act placed a tax on all paper. Benjamin Franklin went to England in 1766 to make an appeal before the British House of Commons.

The Start of the Tea Act
The Tea Act gave the British East India Company a monopoly on tea, making it very expensive for the colonists. The colonists reacted by dumping all the tea into the sea, nearly 92,000 pounds.
