    Produced for the Playstation, Resident Evil was the first game in the franchise by the same name. Resident Evil used 3D polygonal characters and objects superimposed over pre-rendered backdrops with pre-determined camera angles and included voice actors.

    Resident Evil 2
    Much like the graphics of the first game the graphics for character and item models used superimposed over pre-rendered backgrounds that are viewed from fixed camera angles but this time it used real-time generated polygonal. Although it was praised for its graphics, critics and players found fault with the voice acting because voice-over was recorded before the cut scenes were finished. Resident Evil 2 was produced for the Playstation

    Resident Evil Code: Veronica
    As the forth installment in the Resident Evil franchise, it was the first game in the franchise to use 3D backgrounds rather than the pre-render backgrounds. It was also the first game to make the jump from the Playstation to the new console on the market the Sega Dreamcast.

    Produced for the GameCube, the game was able to have much more advance graphics due to the updated power of the newer console. This update allowed for this version of the game to utilize 3D rendering of the graphics and use motion capture for the facial expressions for all the characters.

    Developled for the next Gen gaming consoles, Resident Evil 5 was produced for the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3. this Resident Evil utilized full motion chapture for its charachters throughout the game.

    The newest and yet to be released title in the Resident Evil franchise, the game utilizes motion capture 3D rendering and voice acting like its predecessor.
