    Birth of Lorenzo de' Medici

    Medici ruled Florence, Italy with his brother Giuliano from 1469 to 1478. He was known as the Wise, "the needle on the Italian scales" and ruled from 1478-1492. He also basically funded Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli's artworks.

    Columbus set sail in 1492 and landed in the Bahamas and he also sighted Cuba (which he thought was China), Hispaniola Spain (which he thought might be Japan) he had a total of 4 expeditions during his lifetime and he sadly died in 1506
