  • Month 1

    Month 1
    In this stage the fertilized egg grows and a sac forms around the baby and filling with fluid called amniotic fluid. The placenta also develops which helps the nutrients get to the baby. Your baby is just a size of a grain of rice.
  • Month 2

    Month 2
    In this month the features of the baby develop, legs and arms start to grow bigger and form the toes and fingers. digestive system starts to develop and bones become stronger. Heartbeats begin to be heard. Your baby is a inch long at this point.
  • Month 3

    Month 3
    In this month your baby can open his/her mouth. Fingernails, teeth, and toenails begin to form. The reproductive system forms but you can not find out the gender on a ultrasound. Your child is now 2 inches
  • Month 4

    Month 4
    By this month you can now see what gender you are going to have. Hair, toe and finger nails, and eyelids are formed. Bone is now denser and your baby will start to yawn, stretch, make faces, and even suck him/her thumb. Your baby is now 5 inches long.
  • Month 5

    Month 5
    In this month your baby's hair begins to grow around the body, also you might start to feel your baby's movement as he/she builds more muscle. This is called quickening. Your baby is now 10 inches long.
  • Month 6

    Month 6
    In this month your baby's skin turns a little red and veins are visible. You can also see your baby's toe and finger prints. Te eyelids start to open. Your baby can hear sounds and in response move to them. Also your baby can hiccup which is the jerking motion felt in your belly. If your baby is born prematurely and its after there 23rd week, then your baby can have a chance to survive. The baby is now 12 inches long.

    Month 7
    In this month your baby starts to gain fat from the mothers food. Your baby can now fully hear (but with slightly less muffled sound) and react to them. The baby will move more frequently and respond to light, sound, and pain. Your baby is now 14 inches.
  • Month 8

    Month 8
    Your baby in this month will develop body fat, and your baby will kick more. The brain is developing rapidly and can hear a lot better. The lungs are still immature in the baby. Your baby is now 18 inches.
  • Month 9

    Month 9
    Your baby continues to grow, and lungs are nearly fully developed. Your baby blinks, turn it's head, grasps, and responds to is surroundings and sound. The baby positions itself were the head is in the pelvis. Your baby is now 18-20 inches.
