I was born on the 15th and my mom would always read to me, so I started listening to books really young.

In kindergarten we began reading and working on our sight words really early on.

I was doing so well in all my reading that they bumped me up to above grade level reading.

In the fifth grade we got to pick out favorite books and we got paired with a kindergartner. I read them my favorite book and also helped them read their favorite book.

I was scared going into middle school because we were reading things I had never read before and then writing essays on the books.

In middle school we began reading Shakespeare, which was my first time reading that ever!

I was really shy in middle school (still am) and I did not want to preform a Shakespeare play in front of the whole school, so I told my teacher and tried to explain why I did not want to read the play and she kicked me out!

For my Girl Scouts silver award, me and my friends created a book drive to donate books to the kids in a shelter. There were not many books there for the kids to read.

I took honors English in high school all four years and worked hard on my reading skills to maintain them.

I passed college level English my first semester here at HCC and received an A in the course.
