    I went to an all Spanish school in California where I learned the Spanish alphabet first and how to read in Spanish.

    I had a little difficulty transitioning from Spanish to English, but working with level books helped me get to where I was supposed to be.

    My teacher had placed me in Resource class which was meant to help students who were falling behind, she said I was behind on my reading, but she admitted to my parents that I was placed there because I talked to much in class.

    My favorite teacher to this day showed me how magical reading books can be. My favorite books that she read were the Junie B. Jones series.

    I used to watch the series Goosebumps on TV, so when I saw the books at the bookfair, I had to have them! My son even reads them now.

    My English teacher had us write a story using our vocabulary words. I always read it to my older sister, which she always told me they were great.

    In 9th grade, I was left with the task to read books that I did not enjoy making me realize I did not enjoy reading at all.

    I worked graveyard shift for a few years and the people I worked with would always read since it was slow. They recommended some books for me and that's where I fell in love with reading all over again.

    I never liked History class, but all that changed when I had a history teacher that had us read real interviews and stories about people telling our true history. It made me have a greater appreciation for History.
