    My first language is Spanish, and when I moved to the United States at the age of six is when I remember my reading timeline starting because I was learning a new language.

    Since I was a non-English speaker in first grade, I first started to speak and read in English but started with reading of a pre-schooler but worked hard to get myself at the reading level of the grade that I was in which is first grade.

    In second grade is when I felt that my reading advanced. I have always liked learning so after learning English, I became obsessed with advancing my reading.

    When I started middle school, I was introduced to new reading that I hadn't been exposed to before and as I mentioned before I have always liked reading and learning so I always up to the challenge to learn new material.

    In middle school, I always felt like the material was hard for me at first because I was exposed to a reading that had new words that I had never heard before but soon enough the reading became easy to me. At this time was when I also became interested in poetry.

    When I started high school is when I had first felt challenged in reading in a while since when I first started to learn to read in English. I joined the book club and was always in the library and sometimes skipped lunch.

    After being in a reading club for a while, I developed a new hobby in reading and was into reading book series such as books from Stephenie Meyer.

    When I was preparing for exams in schools such as ACT's, I got really into reading new material that included new information and new words.

    By my senior year, I was convinced that I liked English and into reading. Which is why I made the decision to minor in English when I got into college.
