Early Childhood
One of the first times I recall reading was when I was about 3-4 years old. My mom would read me a book before bed each night. -
1st Year of School
When I started kindergarten, I remember my teacher reading a lot of books to the class. I also remember starting to read sentences. -
Library
During the summer after Kindergarten, my mom took me to the library a lot for a summer reading program. -
3rd Grade
During 3rd grade I remember starting to read chapter books. I remember reading the whole Box Car Children series. -
Middle School
In middle school, classes used a lot of textbooks. Reading textbooks became an important part of being successful in school. -
High School
During high school, I remember taking literature classes and reading some really interesting novels. -
Graduating
After graduating high school and going to college, I found myself reading a lot of informational books, journals, and articles. -
Break From College
After a couple of years in college, I decided to take a break after having my first daughter. During this time, I read a lot of popular novels like Twilight and Harry Potter. This reminded me of how much I enjoyed reading . -
Reading To My Own Children
Now that I am a mom, I think it is important that I read to my daughters. I try to read to them every night before bed. -
Going Back to College
When I decided to go back to college, I had to remember how to read informational text. This was much different than the novels and children's book I had been reading.
