In first grade, I remember participating in weekly reading groups. It was Ms. Gardner's first year of teaching. Her excitement when reading is something I will never forget. She was my motivation and reason I want to become a teacher.

My all-time favorite book series growing up was Junie B. Jones. Once I learned how to read, I would go through at least one book a week.

In elementary school, there would be a yearly Scholastic book fair. The school librarian would read some of the most popular books. While I was not able to always purchase a book, I always had a great time.

Every week in elementary school, as a class we would go to the library. This helped my love for reading grow. There was always a variety of books to choose from.

Another book series I vividly remember is the Baby-Sitters Club. During my free time, I would read books from this series.

In middle school, there was a certain point where I stopped reading for enjoyment. A book that I truly read for pleasure was the Fault in our Stars.

I remember purchasing this book with my 13th birthday money. I still have a copy to this day. Reading books like this helped me realize how much I love to read.

It might seem strange that a children's book is included in my high school years. As a part of the Early Childhood Education Program, I taught at a pre-school. I created a lesson plan based on the book, "How Do You Wokka-Wokka?" It was a very rewarding experience. I taught the students about the importance of physical exercise using a book.

I always get inspired and feel the need to pick up a book when I visit Barnes and Noble. I used to go there often and skimmed through their book selection.

Recently, I have been going to a new local library. I forgot how relaxing it is to simply read a book. The environment is lovely and slowly I am getting back on the habit of reading for enjoyment.
