    Read to Me
    My mom started reading to me regularly at the age of four. My favorite book was Love You Forever by Robert Munsch but in Spanish.

    I began reading on my own in 1st grade and I loved to read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein to my parents, even though I couldn't read every word.

    Once a month our school PTA would hold a Reading Night where each student would take a book and swap it with another student.

    My mom enrolled me in a summer reading program at the Whitney Library where we received prizes when we reached different reading goals.

    I got my first library card in 3rd grade. My mom would take me every afternoon where I would spend hours reading Junie B. Jones books.

    In 6th grade I would read to my 1st grade teachers students. I would go three times a week after school for the whole school year.

    In 9th grade we read The Great Gatsby as a class. At first I couldn't concentrate and I would never remember anything. Towards the middle of the book I couldn't put it down.

    I had recently seen The Last Song when I found out there was a book on the movie. I instantly fell in love with Nicholas Sparks. I have bought and read most of his books.
