Usually before bed, my parents would read me a picture book when I was a young child before I could read. -
In 1st grade we would have reading circles where we got to choose a book and read to the class. -
In elementary school, around 3rd grade we would have reading logs where we tried to read as many books as we can and whoever spent the most time reading would recieve a prize at the end of the week. This made it really fun to read each night. -
In elementary school, we had the Scholastic Book Fair that we went to each year and chose some of our favorite books. -
Growing up, libraries had childrens sections for reading that I used to sit on a bean bag chair and choose a book to read after school. -
My first favorite series that I was obsessed with was Junie B Jones. I had each book in the series. -
My 5th grade teacher would read to us after lunch each day, a chapter from a book. It was my favorite part of the day. -
During the summer before going into middle school, my library had a reading contest over the summer and after reading so many books we got to choose a book of our choosing from our library to keep. -
During 6th/7th grade I loved The Hunger Games series and would read the books over and over. They were one of my favorite series to read in Middle School. -
In my freshman year of highschool, I took a theater class that we learned about Shakespeare and read his texts, it was exciting getting to learn and read a different genre of books. -
After highschool, my love for reading kind of vanished. It wasn't until this past year that I started loving it again. I really enjoy informational books and young adult books that take me out of reality for a few hours.
