The reason I add this to my timeline is because learning the alphabet is very important to begin learning to read. My mother introduced me early to get a head start before preschool.
-
This is important because my mother would sit with me everyday and have me read to her. She was very persistent and would have me go back it I got even one word wrong. I learned to read in kindergarten because of my mother.
-
From 2nd grade to 4th grade, I did not enjoy reading. I loved looking at pictures books. This is an important event because I avoided reading as much as possible, even though I knew how to read well.
-
It was not until middle school that I became very interested in reading. I started with an adventure novel, which I enjoyed very much.
-
Then in 7th grade, I picked up a random book in the library I found out I love reading romance novels.
-
I loved reading so much at this point that I read all the romance novels in my school library by the end of 8th grade.
-
I was one of the individuals that loved the twilight books, I still do, the movies not so much. I started reading them my freshman to sophomore year.
-
I will never forget my writing proficiency. Although I loved reading, writing was a little struggle for me. I was afraid I was going to fail this proficiency, but then it was time to choose a topic and I remember one of the choices was my favorite book. Since I was reading the Twilight series, the book was at that moment my favorite book. I passed the reading proficiency.
-
I started reading this series when I was a junior and invested on buying all the hard copy books because it was my favorite series of books! They have made a show about the books, but I have not dared to watch it because I do not want to ruin my favorite book series.
-
Although I have not picked up a novel since high school. I have read plenty of children's books to my children. Reading to them took me back to my childhood, my favorite books were always the Dr. Seuss books, so I made sure to buy them for my children.
