    FIRST BOOK (DR.SEUSS)
    ABC by Dr.Seuss was the first book I was ever introduced to when I got into school. It was a book that at the time was helping me recognize letter names and letter sounds. Dr.Seuss books became my favorite books to read, I really liked the illustrations behind the books and I feel it helped me become creative as a child.

    THE VERY HUNGARY CATERPILLAR
    I remember this book was one of my favorite books to grab from my teacher’s library section, I would read this book over and over. This book helped me memorize my weekdays, for each weekday the caterpillar would eat something different to help it grow and eventually become a butterfly.

    AR testing was a reading tool for teachers that really helped push me to read as much books as I could. I remember my teachers would give out treats to those who passed a certain amount of AR test per week.

    Junie B Jones was my first series of books that I had ever read. My third-grade teacher had lots of Junie B Jones books and I remember how much I enjoyed reading each book. This series is special to me because it really sparked my interest in reading.

    Back then I didn’t have lots of books to read and my parents decided to take me to the public library for the first time. I would walk with my parents in the afternoons to the library and they would let me pick out a book. This gave me more access to practice my reading skills and for my love for books to grow.

    My eighth-grade year my English teacher made us work on lots of Poems and read many poems as well. This was the first time being introduced to poetry and many known poets.

    THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER
    I really enjoyed reading this book, there is a lot of things that happen throughout the story and I remember the suspense I would get from reading this book. I read this book not because of the usual school assignment, I read this book for fun. To me it was like watching tv, it brought lots of feelings and increased my love for books.

    MY 11TH GRADE ENGLISH TEACHER
    My eleventh-grade teacher would allow time for reading during class of a book of our personal interest. Her allowing me to choose a book to read made for a good time in my English class. She would always motivate us to read books even outside of school. I appreciated the fact that she would give us the chance to choose a book instead of being forced to read something we didn’t like. As a child I loved watching Harry Potter movies, so I read lots of Harry Potter books in her class.

    Whiskey, Words, and a Shovel By Sin is my favorite poetry book, I love the work of Sin, I love the messages and advice in this book.

    I’ve definitely read a lot more in college and I’ve received so much knowledge on different topics involving education. The textbooks we buy in college are more expensive than any other books I’ve read but they certainly have paid off!
