One distinct memory that I had of having to read the bible was during summer in Elementary school I was someplace I wasnt suppose to be and my mom couldn't find me for a few hours when she did she was furious, my punishment was to read the bible and only the bible. No toys. No music no other books. Just the bible. That kind of turned my taste for reading sour.

In middle school we started to read poems and write poems. One skit slash poem I learned to really like was "whos on first" Just the humor in talking so simple yet confusing was so entertaining to me.

The first long story I read that was history related was Anne Frank. We read it as a play but I remember being so intrigued by the story and her family all the sadness that followed her.

The first real chapter book I read was The Great Gatsby. This story was so weird and confusing but also gave me a sense of entering a new reality. I couldn't figure out why Daisy would still run away with her cheating husband or maybe "old sport" made the whole thing up by being a drunk.

When school was on break I would often find myself at the library, it was quite and it was nice and cool there. Living in california at the time summers were harsh. During the summer right before high school I started to be interested in reading books for my own pleasure. Not just an assignment, murder mysteries and love stories captured my attention.

This book is one of my top favorites. I loved the idea of a place that seemed perfect. It was a new way people live but I knew there had to be darkness with it. Reading about someone who learns about memories was so intriguing. I escaped my reality into this one.

After high school reading became something I wished I could do but didn't have much time for unless it was a textbook. However, in college i did read a book called A Boy Raised As A Dog this book was written from a psychiatrist point of view. It was heartbreaking to read but gave such good insight.

As a kid we watched tons of movies. We are a big movie fanatic family. Now as an adult I often like to watch the movie then read the book or vice versa only to compare how different they are. Most of the time the books win.

I highly recommend reading this book and then watching the movie. This book is a murder mystery and a love story tied into one. It breaks your heart in so many ways but also puts it back together. This was one of the first movies I had to read the book only to compare the two.

Unfortunately my life now as a college student working two jobs I don't have time to not be multitasking. But I still love to read so instead I listen to books often when I am walking my dogs. I just started reading Harry Potter.
