On my first birthday, my mother purchased me a set of Dr. Seuss books

In the first grade I fell in love with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

In the Spring of 94' I was entered into my first spelling bee contest, I did not win that year.

In the third grade I entered my third Spelling Bee and came in 1st place among my peers.

From the 4th through 6th grade I read books in my spare time such as Box Cart kids and Goosebumps.

When I entered middle school my love of reading books diminished and I began reading articles in magazines.

I spent a lot of time out of school and my reading comprehension suffered, so I had to take a remedial course in college.

Once I was out of my reading comprehension course I gained an interest in Romance novels.

Upon returning back to school (college) I began to understand and broaden my choice in reading material.

Now I continuously read self-help books & novels. I have joined a reading program to help students throughout CCSD with their own struggle in reading.
