In the first grade I fell in love with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom -

In the Spring of 94' I was entered into my first spelling bee contest, I did not win that year. -
Won first Spelling Bee
In the third grade I entered my third Spelling Bee and came in 1st place among my peers. -
Love of Reading
From the 4th through 6th grade I read books in my spare time such as Box Cart kids and Goosebumps. -
Switch choice of Reading Material
When I entered middle school my love of reading books diminished and I began reading articles in magazines. -
Reading Comprehension
I spent a lot of time out of school and my reading comprehension suffered, so I had to take a remedial course in college. -
Introduced to Romance Novels
Once I was out of my reading comprehension course I gained an interest in Romance novels. -
College Courses
Upon returning back to school (college) I began to understand and broaden my choice in reading material. -
Expanded Knowledge
Now I continuously read self-help books & novels. I have joined a reading program to help students throughout CCSD with their own struggle in reading.
