My mom, when I was very young, started reading Amelia Bedelia books to me every night before bed. I loved these stories because of Amelia's quirkiness and silly personality.

My cousin, Brianna, used to live next door to me so we grew up like sisters! She was two years older than me and wanted to be a teacher someday so we would play school together where she was the teacher and I was the student. This was one of her favorite books to play pretend with and read!

Junie B. Jones books were another series that I read early on and would play school with my cousin with. These stories were always silly and made me see how my actions could affect others given Junie B. Jones was typically the bully in the stories.

After I grew out of Amelia Bedelia books, my mom would read The Spiderwick Chronicles to me every night. We finished all of the series in the same year and with these books, I realized by love for mystery, fantasy, and the spookier side of literature.

This story was read multiple times in my elementary school classes. This story always stuck out to me because of how much I related to the main character. The main character, Chrysanthemum was made fun of by others because of her name and found herself not having many friends. I, myself, did not have friends in school so I liked this story a lot due to the connection I had to it.

This set of stories grew very popular when I was in early elementary school and they were also some of my favorites. I loved scary things and I loved staying up at night reading the stories until I was too afraid to go to sleep. These were the only types of books I would check out from the school library for a good amount of time!

The first story was assigned in my fourth grade class to read and I ended up falling in love with the plot and Greek Mythology as a whole. After we finished the first book in class, I took it upon myself read the second book in the series and then the third. This series inspired my interest in history because of the Greek Mythology within in elements.

This story I picked out from the school library due to a reading assignment that was required to complete. I ended up finding this book to be one of my favorites to this day. I loved the story and I remember loving the twist at the end that made me want to read it over again. Again, this has to be one of my favorite books despite its early reading level!

This book was gifted to me by my grandma for my birthday. I was able to read this story in 2 days because of how much I loved the characters and loved the story. This book is about two twin sisters with complete different personalities who switch identified for a day and see how despite being twins, the world was still very different for them both. I was very connected to this story as a younger girl and this boy actually inspired my next read: Girl Meets Ghost.
-
This is a story about a teenage girl who can see and speak to a ghost girl around her age that has passed away and has unfinished business. The girl helps the ghost move on by solving mysteries. I loved this story because it inspired my love for mystery and even true crime and I found myself wanting to be like the characters in the story.

I was invited to watch the new Maze Runner movie in theaters with some friends. I ended up loving it so much that I decided to read the books as well. This series is definitely my favorite because of its realism and dystopian vibe and the connection I was able to form with the characters. The movies are also some of my favorites as well!

This book was assigned for my junior year English class. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did but because of its setting, This book ranks in my top 5! I am a huge history lover and really enjoy reading/watching movies that take place in early century or just in the past in general. The symbolism within the story also added depth to the themes and to the plot. The Great Gatsby combines romance, with mystery, and crime and makes for a great read!

Tuesdays With Morrie tells the story is about a man who is dying due to ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) and is visited by an old student of his teaching him valuable life lessons about love, money, and all sorts of different things. After my uncle died, I gave this book to my dad to help him through the death of his brother. This book taught him lessons in life and how to look at my uncles death differently the same way the main character, Mitch, saw his old friends death in the story.
