    Parents would read books to me.
  • Toddler

    Parents would read to me. Was able to turn pages and pretend to read.
  • Preschool

    The teacher would read books to the class. Started working on sight words and letter sounds.
  • Kidergarten

    The teacher read to class. Students read along with the teacher. I remeber the whole class sitting around in a cirlce as the teacher read books and asked the students about the story.
  • First-Second Grade

    Remember writing sentences and short stories in class. Where I was able to start reading short stories. Able to sound words out. Got a library card and signed up for reading programs.
  • Third Grade

    In third grade is when I remember we started to read books out loud to the class. Every week we would sit in the reading corner and a student would pick a short book to read to the class.
  • Fourth-Eight Grade

    Was reading more than short stories. Started to read more educational text and using the information from the text to complete assignments.
  • High School

    Reading was mostly independent. Started doing book reviews and took creative writing courses. During this time found out I really enjoyed reading. Read many books during this time for free reading purposes.
  • Child

    Helping my own child to read stories and practice the alphabet and working on site words.
  • College

    Reading college level textbooks. Learning to take notes.
