This is my very first experience that I remember with reading. My mom used to read this book to my sister and I when we were little. This sparked my love for books because my mom had A TON of books, since she is a teacher.

When my sister and I were little, my mom wrote a children's book dedicated to my sister and I. My mom is a huge book worm. With her dedicating a book to us, it made me start to love books. I believe that's when my passion for books started.

In my Elementary school, every year there was a book fair. It was always the most fun! There were a lot of books, and a lot of toys that corresponded with toys. My mom bought my sister and I things from the book fair every year.

In elementary school, these were the first chapter books that I read. I am a pretty slow reader; however I was so proud of myself for reading so well.

I remember in middle school is when I started to not really like to read. I didn't really enjoy the books that were picked in classes.

In middle school, there was one book that we read and I was very into. The book that I loved was called "The Giver".

In my early high school years, we had to read Shakespeare in our English classes. I remember this being my first big memory of not liking to read. This changed my perception on books because I never fully understood the books and I didn't do well on the tests off of the books. I was very frustrated.

In my 12th grade English class, we read a sci-fi book all together in class. This really changed my perspective on books because I really enjoyed the entire book. Mind you, I'm not a big sci-fi fan either.

The John Green book, "The Fault in our Stars", happened to be the first book that I read after my perception changed back to a positive light. I read the book in 3 days and ended up crying at the end, typical.

I can happily say I do like reading a lot. It has been a lot of mind changing experiences throughout my schooling. My favorite author is oddly still John Green. I also plan to have a huge library of books in my future classroom to hopefully spark other kids' love for books.
