    Raoul Wallenberg was the only child born to Raoul and Maj Wallenberg in Sweden.

    In 1941, Wallenberg went to work in Budapest, Hungary for a company. The ownwer was Jewish and was afraid to travel in central Europe where Hilter was in control. At the time, Wallenberg did not know the direction his life would take when he was asked help the Jews, but working in Budapest helped him learn about the community and the people that lived there.

    The Soviets reported that Wallenberg had died of a heart attach in 1947. This was never confirmed.

    Wallenberg was declared an honorary citizen of the United States. The only other people this status was given was to the decendents of Marquis de Lafayette (French man who helped train troops during the American Revolution) and Sir Winston Churchill (the Prime Minister of England during World War II). By making Wallenberg a citizen, more steps could be taken discover the truth about his disappearance.
