  • Sopwith Camel Invented

    Sopwith Camel Invented
    Made by Tommy Sopwith
    -Faster than enemy Fokkers.
-One of the most agile planes in WW1
Developed from Sopwith Pup. The Camel was larger and heavier than the Pup. Camel more sensitive to controls than Pup.
  • Sopwith Triplane Invented

    Sopwith Triplane Invented
The Sopwith Triplane had three wings and followed the success of the sopwith pups. The Triplane had a great rate of climb and great manouverability. It either had single or duel 7.7mm machine guns which were also synchronised.
  • Sopwith Pup

    Sopwith Pup
The Sopwith Pup had a vickers machine gun and could fly with speeds of 111mmph at sea level.
It was good at handling and was manoueverable but not as manoueverable as the later Sopwith Pup
  • Sopwith Camel First Flight

    Sopwith Camel First Flight
The first flight of the Sopwith Camel qfter being invented earlier the same year. Over 5,000 of these were built in total.
  • Sopwith Dolphin Invented

    Sopwith Dolphin Invented
This plane was more developed and had an unobstructed view from the cockpit which helped the pilots to see clearly. The Dolphin was great at shooting down enemies with its twin 7.7mm machine guns with another one shooting forward or upwards. However, one problem was that it was succeptable to 'nose over' accidents where the plane would flip.
  • Sopwith Rainbow Invented

    Sopwith Rainbow Invented
Unlike the camel and pup, this plane was not intentionally made for the war. This was originally a racing plane. A characteristic of a racing plane is to be the fastest and very agile. These charactersitics helped the plane in the war as it could easily beat the enemy Fokkers and outrun it. However, according to wikipedia only one plane was built. This may be because they could use the resources to build more Camels and Hawkers as they were more equipped with weapons.
  • Hawker Hurricane Invented

    Hawker Hurricane Invented
The Hawker Hurricane was the first operational R.A.F aircraft which could go over 300mph.
Along with the Spitfire, it defended Britain and shot down enemy Lutwaffe with 20mm and 40mm cannons. It could also carry 1000 pounds of bombs so it was also good at attacking and bombing cities. It was stronger and more reliable than the Spitfire and also had four machine guns in each side of the plane.
  • Hawker Harrier Invented

    Hawker Harrier Invented
The Hawker Harrier was able to reach speeds of over 730mph. It was very successful and was able to take off like a helicopter and fly like a jet which made it a superb aircraft. It had two 30mm guns and cannons under the fuselage and carried 4 sidewinder missiles and could carry 5,000 pounds of bombs.
  • Concord

    Concord
The super sonic aircraft could reach speeds up to 1350mph (more than double the speed of sound) and could take you to New York in a couple of hours.
  • Last Concorde Flight

    Last Concorde Flight
The last ever concorde flight. It was given up on as it used too much fuel and was very expensive despite being very quick.
