(1) Flight from Miami to Toronto
We need to board American Airlines flight 1219 to New York (LGA) at 12:15 a.m. and you will land at approximately 2:55 a.m. There will be a layover in New York for about 3 hours, then board American Airlines flight 3005 to Toronto (YYZ) at 6 a.m. You will arrive in Toronto at about 7:40 a.m. -
(2) Taxi Drive to Hotel
Hotel check-in at 8:30 a.m. From the airport, the hotel is about 10 minutes away (11.5km.) You will take a taxi and it will cost around $7. -
(3) Drive to Campbell Avenue Skating Rink
After check-in, rest until 9:30 a.m.(approx. an hour) and then get ready to leave to go to Campbell Avenue Park to skate. It will cost $9.38 to get there and it will be a 27 minute drive. -
(5) Taxi Back to Hotel from Ice Rink
We will leave the rink at around 2:15 p.m. The drive will be 27 minutes long and the taxi will cost $9.38. -

(4) Skating at Campbell Avenue Park
We will go skating outdoors from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. and the price will be $7 per person. In Canada, the people are much more environment orientated. This skating rink is outdoors which emphasizes their CULTURAL ECOLOGY. Their common outdoor activites mirror their CULTURE. Because of th cold climate and abundant amounts of snow, Canadians involve themselves in hockey, skiing, skating, snowboarding, and many other cold outdoor sports which shows their ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINISM. -

(7) Drive to Toronto Airport
Check out of the hotel at 4 a.m. Drive to the Toronto airport (taxi will be $7) which will take 10 minutes. -
(8) Flight from Toronto to Athens
You will be departing at 6:25 a.m. on flight 651 on Alitalia Airlines. You will be sleeping on the plane. There will be a 1 hour 35 minute layover in Rome at 3:15 p.m. Then you will take flight 718 on Altitalia airlines at 4:50 p.m. to Athens and you will arrive at 6:55 p.m. -
(11) Taxi from Play to Airport
The play will be over at 9 p.m. You will take a taxi from the theatre to the airport which will take about a half hour and it will cost around $23. Expect to arrive at the airport at around 9:30 p.m. -
(9) Taxi Drive to the Greek National Theatre
The drive to the play will be 30 minutes long and the taxi will cost $23. -
(10) Watch Play
The entrance fee to the play is $25 per person. The play starts at 8 p.m. It is called "The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza." It has to to do with the ancient greek RELIGION that believes in the ancient greek gods and godesses. It is a POLYTHEISTIC religion meaning they believe in many gods. The events in the play act out many ancient FOLKTALES such as Pandora’s Box and the Iliad. -
(13) Flight from Istanbul to Beijing (Connecting Flight)
At 3:20 a.m. take Turlish Airlines flight 20 which is a 9 hour flight to Beijing. You will sleep on the plane. There will be a 4 and half our layover in Beijing. -
(12) Flight from Athens to Istanbul (Connecting Flight)
We will be taking Turkish Airlines flight 1844. The flight leaves at 12:00 a.m. We will land in Istanbul for a 1 hour 55 minute layover. -
(14) Flight from Beijing to Qingdao
At 4:30 p.m. take Air China flight 1525 to Qingdao. You will arrive in Qingdao at 5:50 p.m. -
(15) Taxi to Radish and Rice Dumpling Festival
Take a taxi from the airport to the annual Qingdao Radish and Rice Dumpling Festival located on the Qingdao Culture Street. It will be about a half hour drive and will cost $17. You will arrive at around 6:45 p.m. -
(17) Qingdao Radish and Dumpling Festival
Continue walking around the festival until it is over at approximatley 10 p.m. -
(18) Taxi from Festival to Airport
Take a taxi from the festival to the airport. The ride will be about 36 minutes long and it will cost $17. Expect to arrive at the airport at 10:45 p.m. -
(16) Participate in the Dumpling Eating Contest
The team will both participate in the Qingdao Rice Dumpling Eating Contest. The price per person is $10.50. The Qingdao Radish and Rice Dumpling festival has been celebrated for over 600 years. It arose from local FOLKLORE that says eating radishes on the 9th day of the lunar year prevents disease. As the idea spread through CONTAGIOUS DIFFUSION, radishes and dumplings became the main STAPLE and the Radish and Rice Dumpling festival was born. -
(19) Flight from Qingdao to Beijing (Connecting Flight)
At 12:00 a.m. take Air China flight 1572 to Beijing. The layover will last 3 hours and 10 minutes. -
(20) Flight from Beijing to Istanbul (Connecting Flight)
At 4:50 a.m. take Air China flight 5231 to Istanbul. You will sleep on the plane as it is a 10 hour 20 minute flight. You will arrive at Istanbul at approximately 3:10 p.m. -
(21) Flight from Istanbul to Cairo (Connecting Flight)
There will be a 1 hour 35 minute layover in Istanbul. At 4:45 p.m take Egyptair flight 9292 to Cairo. The flight will be 2 hours and 20 minutes long. -

(25) Go on Ancient Egypt Fishing Trip
The boat will pick the team up at the hotel at 6 a.m. The trip will last 8 hours on the Nile River. We will be riding on a Felucca, an ancient Egyptian boat used for fishing and sailing. In Ancient Egypt, fish were fed daily to those on the lower end of the CASTE SYSTEM. The Egyptian's HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION was very important. The Nile River was one of their main sources of transportation, especially for trade. It helped develop some of the unique Ancient Egyptian CULTURAL TRAITS. -
(26) Return to Hotel/Checkout
The boat will drop you off at the hotel at 2 p.m. Checkout is at 2:30 p.m. -
(27) Take Taxi to Airport
A taxi will take you to the airport. It will cost $8 and you will arrive at the airport around 2:50 p.m. -

At 7:45 p.m. take US Airways flight 1790 to Philidelphia. The layover will last an hour. -
(32) Explore Saut-d'Eau
The team will hike to the base of the waterfall and join in a religious ceremony. In Haiti, the two main religions, or beliefs, are Catholicism and Voodooism. The ancient falls of Saut-d'Eau are a SACRED SIGHT for the voodoo practitioners in Haiti and also for small tribes such as the Iwa Damballah. And in July, many people embark on an important PILGRIMAGE to these falls. Voodooism originated from the TRIBAL RELIGIONS of West Africa. Voodism is a very important aspect of Haitian culture. -
(36) Flight from Philidelphia to Miami
At 12:15 a.m. take US Airways flight 703 to Miami. You will arrive at 3:15 a.m. Congratulations for completing the Amazing Race!
